Our Passion
We wanted a bolt action that was the pinnacle. A rifle that would be the ultimate choice whether in PRS/NRL, Silhouette, F-Class, or full benchrest competition. We believe the NP1 and NP2 cover it all. Both models are virtually the same except the NP1 has an integrated 10 MOA picatinny rail, and the NP2 has a 30 MOA integrated pic rail. Both models feature a large flat bottom receiver that boasts nearly 5 square inches of surface area to assure the action stays where it's put without the need to be bedded into the stock. Also, by making the bottom flat it adds a sort of vertical steel frame that allows for large heavy barrels to be used without allowing that weight to deflect the action. Along with the flat bottom adding strength, the picatinny rail acts as a horizontal frame further inhibiting any chance of flexural stress.
Next, we see the bolt has 2 large locking lugs. This ensures that the round is secured in the chamber by equal opposing support. Also, the bolt shroud has full rails that follow the raceways in the receiver, thus making perfect bolt travel every cycle.
To top it off, we nitride the steel parts for a glass like feel and years of durability and wear/corrosion resistance.
We used CZ style magazine because this is a rimfire and is deserving of the light weight, compactness it has enjoyed from conception over 100 years ago.
The trigger is supplied by Timney Triggers and, in our opinion, a fine addition, adjustable from 10 oz. to 2 pounds. And a nice, bold aluminum trigger guard with plenty of surface area to mate the action into the black walnut stock without compressing the wood.
Every component is 100% machined from billet heat treated alloy steel or aircraft aluminum. You won't find any plastic parts in the Newman Precision line of rimfires.
NP BARRELS
Just ask someone who owns one. We put the absolute most effort into our barrels. From the highest grade of 416 stainless stock to the micro cut crown at the end, accuracy is our mission. Each barrel is hand taper lapped and inspected for quality before chambering and crowning then polished.
